The Legend of Sleeping Waters

Jeb Witherspoon, 1929

"Ever had that feeling when the hairs stand up on the back of your neck and you just know something is watching, but you don't know what it is?  You still might not know what it is, but now you know where it lives."

Ghosts

"There are ghosts in the room.  As I sit here alone, from the dark corners there they come out of the gloom, and they stand at my side and they lean on my chair..."

Author Unknown

"Take a sprinkling of fairy dust, an angel's single feather, also a dash of love and care, then mix them both together.  Add a sentiment or two, a thoughful wish or line, a touch of stardust, a sunshine ray... it's a recipe, for a Baby Girl truly fine."

Parental Advisory. 18 and older.

1) Purchase the source materials

The game, while not necessarily filled with lude behavior, is of an adult nature because of the horror-based setting.  Things we feel being parents ourselves, certain age sets should not be subseptible to.  Of course, there will be no valid way of knowing if someone is lying about his or her age.  We do not take any responsibility for people who engage in deceptive or fraudulent practices to get onto the chat/forum.  Our notice is posted here so that our rule is known.  We have and will go through an extensive process to ensure that such actions that would be offensive are not easily accessible.  The notice of this Parental Advisory and age are placed here to let parents, or whomever, know we have done our task in trying to keep a young person off this site..

"Every night, in fact, you visit this Realm.  While you dream, your dreamscape floats in the clear, infinite ocean that is the periphery.  Hod's borderlands." CJ Carella's The Book of Hod

2) What is CJ Carella's Witchcraft?

An introduction by John Buczek

Welcome to the world of CJ Carella's WitchCraft Roleplaying Game.  It is a world very like our own but with a much darker side.  The monsters and horrors that fill our legends and "fairy tales" walk the earth, hunting and using us for their own purposes.  The spirits and vampyres, demons and angels, shapeshifters and things unimaged, all move through our world just as they have since time immemorial.  And we have helped them remain hidden for we no longer believe in the unseen.  For more of this article please click here.

3) Why is the information so vague on your site?

The reason for such vague gaming information is that we would like to support Eden Studios, Inc and CJ Carella.  This means we have intentionally left the information vague so that you are pulled into our love for this setting and thus, run off and purchase the suppliments to get the full feel of the world of WitchCraft.  Also, we wanted to make sure we followed the rules in regards to the copyrighting laws.

4) Where is the game set and what time?

The game is set in Crimson Moon (based on Crowley, Louisiana with quiet a few changes to not only history but some locations).  The game is set in modern times.  The reason for some of the changes was to fit in with the idea of the typical "small-town" horror movies and books.

5) Is this a Table Top game or what?

The game is to be ran online and consisting of a couple of friends I've brainwashed - er coaxed into checking out WitchCraft/Ghosts of Albion.  The game is ran online using a java-based chat program with many rooms created to become the life of Crimson Moon.  We also will be doing a lot f stories and such through forum posting.

6) So, character backgrounds going to be required?

Yes, character backgrounds will be not just required but mandatory.  The WitchCraft game system relies as much on a fully detailed fleshed out character as it does on the stat points you put on a piece of paper.  This game is more cinematic and involved than a lot of other games are.  There's simply a lot more involved in the characters, not having a clear and well-thought out concept will cause you to choose options that will not suit you later on and will not allow you to change them.  Without a clear path, you simply cannot build the character you want to play and you will not have a good time.  The context of your powers are as important as the powers themselves.

7) How are you handing Character Submissions?

Character submissions will be handled through our forum.  We find using the uniforge program, information found on the forum, to be a valuable bit of software.  If you do not have access to the forum and interested in the game, please email Sleeping Waters with your Forum Name and a note that you are interested in joining the Sleeping Waters chronicle.

8) How is Experience/Learning System handled here?

Information on both the Experience and Learning System have been modified and information on both can be found on our forum.

9) How about Child Base Characters/Pregnancies?

Information on Pregnancies as well as Child Based Characters can be found in great detail on our Forum.
